Boundary Slicer Tool
How to slice existing boundaries in the GXLab 'Boundary Editor'
The “Slice” tool is used to create segments within a single boundary while keeping them grouped under the same boundary in GXLab. For example, it may be used to divide a grazing area into paddocks or split a cropping field where plant varieties differ. Follow the steps below and refer to the images for an example:
1. Open your project in the Upgraded Boundary Editor platform (GMS) by clicking the “Try it now” button under the Boundary Setup tab on the left.

2. Once your project is open in the Boundary Editor platform, click on the boundary you wish to slice.
3. In the panel on the right side of the screen, locate the “Slicer” tool (found in the middle of the toolbar).

4. Select the Slicer tool, then click on either side of the boundary to draw a slicing line through it.
- Continue clicking to create multiple slice lines if needed.

5. When you’re finished:
- Click “Apply” to confirm the slices (they will appear within the boundary area), or
- Click “Cancel” to discard the slice lines.

6. Save your changes to keep the updated boundary.
